Forestry

Protecting Arkansas’s forests, and those who enjoy them, from wildland fire and natural hazards while promoting rural and urban forest health, stewardship, development, and conservation for all generations of Arkansans

Free Tree Friday 2021

Adding trees to your yard or to the community forest is beneficial to all Arkansans, and spring is an excellent time to plant trees! In honor of National Arbor Day, celebrated annually on the last Friday of April, the Arkansas Department of Agriculture Forestry Division will be hosting drive-through bare-root seedling giveaways at various locations across the state on Fridays throughout the month of April. Species will vary based on location, but all locations will have oak seedlings, primarily Nuttall oak, pin oak, water oak, and Shumard oak.

A partial list of giveaway dates, times, and locations is below. New dates and times may be added, so check back for a complete list later. Contact Kristine Kimbro, Urban and Community Forestry Coordinator, at kristine.kimbro@agriculture.arkansas.gov for more information.
