Arkansas Wheat Promotion Board

Overview

The Arkansas Wheat Promotion Board was created to promote the growth and development of the Arkansas wheat industry by research, extension, promotion, and market development. The board consists of nine Arkansas wheat producers appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Members serve two-year terms. The board’s activities are funded by an assessment of one cent per bushel on all wheat grown in Arkansas. The assessment is deducted from the amount paid the producer at the first point of sale or at the point the wheat enters into the United States Department of Agriculture loan program.
